SUMMARY:The Forest Flute & the Antlered Drum\, Dartmoor\, Nigel & Carolyn
DESCRIPTION:Special autumn concert to celebrate the ancient mythology and magic of the sacred instruments which have been at the heart of our compositions and performances for over 30 years. We are playing two concerts this weekend\, each with a with slightly different flavour.  \n\n\n\nOur first evening will be guided by the energy of flutes and voice\, offering gentle\, flowing music and songs with deep reflections on the wild sacred landscape. Nigel will play many flutes handcrafted from Dartmoor woods\, as well as bone and metal. Carolyn will weave in her earthy chants and mystical lyrics as together they create a prayer for the land. \n\n\n\nTickets: £20 (£15 concession for those on low income benefits – please email us to request these tickets) \n\n\n\nConcert begins 7.30pm. Drinks\, bar and delicious plant-based food available from Moor Imagination Centre café.

DESCRIPTION:Carolyn is offering very few workshops this year as she is stepping into some quiet time to work with new projects\, including her new book which is due for release in November. To mark the publication of this\, she will be sharing an afternoon workshop and book presentation at the Moor Imagination Centre as part of the weekend of music that she and Nigel have planned.  \n\n\n\nThe new book is called These Antlered Drums\, a pulsing journey around the magical bodies\, untamed spirits and singing souls of women’s sacred drums. This publication is accompanied by a new oracle\, the Kruttâ Kerdâ Drum Road\, 28 journey cards based on the drums that Carolyn has been creating during the last thirty years. This workshop will dive into the mythic tales and ancient rites of our antlered drums.
